　　《老驴头》讲述了一位73岁农村老汉（老驴头）独自治理祖坟边沙漠的故事。老驴头有三儿两女，但他依靠耕种两亩地维持生计。村里的年轻人大多外出打工了，只剩下老人、小孩、荒芜的土地和没完没了的沙尘暴。县政府决定进行土地改革，让有耕种能力的人集中土地连片机械化作业；无耕种能力的人拿土地转包金，或外出打工，或为农场主打工。村里的首富张永福想强行霸占老驴头的两亩地。老驴头知道后每天躺在地里看守。不久，老驴头发现自家祖坟快被沙漠掩埋了，儿子们都不愿意管。土地是老驴头赖以生存的基础和希望，而即将被沙漠掩埋的祖坟是他的先辈、后代、以及他自己的归宿。面对生与死，老驴头选择了终日独自治理祖坟边的沙漠。                                                                    　　春天到了，老驴头去世了，三个儿子争抢着为他办了一场热闹的葬礼……

《我爱唐人街》是一部警匪片它叙述伦敦唐人街的老大哥张志洪和设计师Franco等，如何协助警方侦破一个贩毒匪帮的故事。   Franco和Michelle本是一对好夫妻，他们准备到欧洲渡假，岂料Franco误会妻子不贞，Michelle一怒之下去伦敦探望好朋友张志洪。他是唐人街的老大哥。   Franco知道错怪妻子后便独自去巴黎寻妻，寻妻不遇却遇上童年时的好朋友Nina。她助他去伦敦寻妻。他们在伦敦会见后，夫妻都大喝其醋。Nina的情夫是黑帮头子马老板，他认定志洪和Franco都是Nina的情人，更恨志洪不肯为他贩毒，以Nina及Franco夫妇作人质逼志洪和他谈判，更把志洪打伤。警方一直监视着他们的行动，陈帮办及时把马老板逮捕了，救出他们。Franco夫妇经过这次事件更加恩爱，志洪和Nina亦结成爱侣。

内容影片使用的作品标题为《小小英雄》（ちいさな英雄），这出自于西村义明想向孩子们提出在生活四周里，也许就有着渺小；但努力活着想达成某种目标的人物存在。作品里包含三个长度各约15分的动画，其中米林宏昌所负责是名为《卡尼尼与卡尼诺》（カニーニとカニーノ）的章节，是个将螃蟹给予拟人化的作品，剧情是描述一对名叫卡尼尼和卡尼诺螃蟹兄弟所经历的冒险故事，这也是米林过去至今执导过动画里头首部由个人所原创的剧本。起初米林是计划弄出一篇将青蛙给拟人化的内容，但之后发现内容不够有趣而舍弃，便转向从自己感兴趣的泽蟹之类生物来寻找点子。画面的表现手法上，则是采用了融合手绘以及电脑CG的方式。百濑义行所执导《武士蛋》（サムライエッグ）是偏向剧情类型的作品，内容改自一位患有严重蛋类食物过敏少年的实有事迹。因作品涉及到医学症状，而有向领域人士询问了一些建议。其中百濑不想让观众觉得这只是一篇关于一名可怜小男孩的故事，而是想表达出生命强韧的一面，和少年要如何在天生体质问题下掌控自己的生活，以及亲情之间的描写。作品画风上有从古田足日和田畑精一俩人所创作的绘本《壁橱里的冒险》（おしいれのぼうけん）来作为参考，并采用类似色铅笔所呈现出的绘制效果。最后由山下明彦担任的《透明人》（透明人間），描述著一名透明人内心里的孤独，并以山下明彦擅长的动作场面来作为表现手法。西村义明认为作品里的透明人，能作为现代人内心常有的孤独、不安情绪的隐喻，并觉得这是一篇含有哲学性的疑问，以及是三篇里头最具前卫风格的作品。配音第一篇《卡尼尼与卡尼诺》里，由女影星木村文乃和铃木梨央分别担任了卡尼尼和卡尼诺螃蟹兄弟。第二篇《武士蛋》中的小男孩俊、以及和他的父母一家人，为篠原凑大、尾野真千子、坂口健太郎三人饰演。最后一篇的《透明人》，则邀请了小田切让和田中泯参与配音。配乐与歌曲配乐部分有过去与米林宏昌多次合作的音乐人村松崇继，流行音乐制作人岛田昌典，以及曾在百濑义行执导的科幻短篇动画三部曲《便携式机场》、《9号太空站》、以及《飞天城市规划》里配乐的中田康贵担任。影片片尾曲《小小英雄》（ちいさな英雄），则由女歌手木村KAELA负责演唱。
